Wildhorse Spring Trail, Whistler Canyon
The first five miles or so of this trail was partially shaded with gradually increasing open and exposed areas. The rest of the trail was rocky and arid, surrounded by fields of sagebrush and dotted with a few dessert blooms. Shortly after lunching at the view point campsite, our hearts were racing as we saw and heard several rattlesnakes! We ended our 14 mile hike at the Whistler Canyon Trailhead along highway 97.

Similkameen Trail, Loomis-Oroville Road,
Nighthawk Washington
Today started out at the half way point of the PNT in Oroville, Washington. After a couples miles along trail, and a long hot road walk on the Loomis-Oroville Road with views of the Similkameen River, we arrived at the Historical Marker for Nighthawk, Washington.
